Why Choose MyErideGuy
E-Scooter Brake Checks Made Simple
The single most dangerous thing about an e-scooter is brakes that do not work. The problem is you cannot see a worn brake, and your kids will not say a word, because they do not even notice. They just keep riding to mates’ houses, the skate park and the foreshore, trusting brakes that nobody has ever checked.
Then one day a car pulls out, they squeeze the brake, and nothing happens.
That is why brakes should be checked every six months.
For $69 we test the brakes properly and sort any minor adjustments on the spot, then tell you in plain English if they are safe.
If they need pads, a bleed or other parts, we text you the exact price before we do anything.
No jargon, no surprise fees, no upsell. Just an honest answer from a local who knows brakes.
Brake checks from $69, includes minor adjustments.

Can't Get To Us? We Can Check The Brakes At Home Too
Loading an e-scooter into the car and driving it across town is a hassle, especially when you are flat out with work, school runs and kids.
The easiest and cheapest option is to drop the scooter in to our workshop, but we know that is not always doable.
That is why we also come to you.
We turn up with a fully stocked setup that carries the tools and parts needed to check and adjust your brakes on the spot.
No loading it into a car, no borrowing a trailer, no hassle.
Parents love this option because their kids rely on scooters every day, and worn brakes are the one thing you do not want to leave.
We come to you, check them properly, and tell you straight if they are safe.
Honest, straightforward and sorted on the spot.
Most brake checks and minor adjustments are done right there in your driveway.
We work on all major brands like Xiaomi, Segway Ninebot, Kaabo, Vsett and more.
If the brakes need more than an adjustment, like new pads or a hydraulic bleed, we text you the exact price before we do anything.
No surprises, no upsell, and you are always the one who decides.
There is a small callout fee to cover travel. Plenty of busy parents are happy to pay it because it saves them the trip, but if you want to keep the cost down you are always welcome to drop the scooter in to us instead.
Whichever way you choose, we will check the brakes properly and help you pick the option that suits you best.

Honest Reviews From Our Loyal Customers
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick Answers to Common E-Scooter Questions
Whether your kid’s brakes feel soft, squeal, or just do not stop the scooter like they used to, these are the questions we get asked most about e-scooter brakes.
How do I know if my kid's e-scooter brakes are worn?
Roll the scooter forward and squeeze the brake. If it does not stop quickly and cleanly, the brakes are worn. The tricky part is that worn brakes often still feel okay right up until your kid really needs to stop, so if you are not sure, get them checked.
How often should e-scooter brakes be checked?
Every six months is a good rule. Kids ride hard and brakes wear faster than people think, so a quick check twice a year keeps them safe.
Can I bring my scooter to you, or do you come to me?
Both. Dropping it in to the workshop is the cheapest and quickest option. We can also come to you for a small callout fee if that is easier.
What kinds of brakes do you work on?
We work on all common e-scooter brake types and all major brands. Drum, disc and electronic, we check and repair them all.
How much does a brake repair cost?
It depends on your scooter and what the brakes need, which is why we check first and tell you the price before we start. No surprise fees, and we only fix what actually needs fixing.
Should I just fix the brakes myself?
You can try, but brakes are the one part you do not want to get wrong. If they are set up poorly your kid may not be able to stop in an emergency. We would rather check them properly and know they are safe.
Do you offer same day brake repairs
Yes, we offer mobile tyre repairs depending on the issue and your location.
If the job requires workshop equipment (e.g. seized bolts or split rims), we may ask you to bring it in instead.
Ask us about mobile availability in your area.
What tyre sizes do you stock?
We stock the most common sizes used in Australia, including 8”, 8.5”, 10”, and 11” tyres, plus heavy-duty tubes and puncture-resistant options.
Tell us your scooter model and we’ll confirm the right tyre size.
Brake checks from $69, includes minor adjustments.
Ready to Book Your Repair?
If your ride is playing up, we can sort it. Tyres, brakes, batteries, electrics, you name it, we fix it every day.
